Turboexpanders

For more than a decade, Calnetix has been at the forefront of the turboexpander technology, designing, implementing and manufacturing of some of the most innovative solutions for expanders across many industries. Calnetix was the first to bring a self-contained, fully integrated solution for industrial waste heat recovery to market and subsequently licensed the technology for certain purposes to GE. Since then it has developed other turboexpander solutions to broaden the market impact of its technology. Calnetix now offers a family of integrated power modules that make small-scale Organic Rankine Cycle systems viable and economical. These advanced modules consist of a high-speed turboexpander integrated with a high–speed permanent magnet generator, magnetic bearings, and power electronics in a single sealed unit. They provide high efficiency and variable speed and load capabilities without a gearbox. These modules require no external seals and utilize non-contact magnetic bearings to eliminate the need for lubrication.
