The Magnetic Power Drive system integrates a high speed drive motor, magnetic bearing suspension system, and all power electronics and controls necessary for reliable operation. The Magnetic Power Drive product line provides power from 1KW to 2MW at speeds from 10Krpm to 500Krpm, which is plenty of shaft power for any commercial turbocompressor. The magnetic bearing system eliminates the need for oil-lubricated bearings for a truly oil-free system. The high speed capability of this type of bearing system is also well suited for integration with the high speed, high efficiency permanent magnet drive motor to form a compact, versatile drive and suspension system. This advanced technology is coupled with the state-of-the-art digital control and power electronics to form the compact drive system, delivered complete for minimum complexity in integration into the turbocompressor system.
