Laser Systems

Calnetix has developed and is in production with a motor and magnetic bearing system for a canned laser chamber. Both the magnetic bearings and the motor operates with a .0045 inch air gap between the rotors and stators of the system.

The complete laser chamber is canned with a 0.0025 inch thick material to keep the gases contained. The motor stator and the magnetic bearings are attached from the outside, for easy installation.

A similar system, also being used for canned motor pumps, can be applied to many other types of applications, where isolating the gases from the system is a must.
