Brad E. Garner
President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Garner joined Calnetix as Chief Operating Officer in March 2007 and was promoted to President & CEO in February of 2008. He has over 20 years experience in senior management and leadership roles in engineering, operations and sales disciplines in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining Calnetix, Mr. Garner was COO of IMPCO Technologies, Inc. where he was instrumental in the profitable growth and global expansion of that company. Mr. Garner also has extensive experience successfully managing mergers and acquisitions globally and in developing commercial relationships with international distributors and original equipment manufacturers. Mr. Garner is a graduate of Fanshawe College of Technology in Canada with an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Vatche Artinian
Chairman
Mr. Artinian is a co-founder and the Chairman for the company. He has a total of 20 years of experience in the industry including successfully founding and selling two previous startup operations. Mr. Artinian has also developed and managed product lines at Allied Signal and Honeywell Corporations. Mr. Artinian holds a Masters in Business Administration from University of Southern California (USC), a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from USC, and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University.
Ian Hart
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Mr. Hart holds a degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He obtained six years of public accounting experience at Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) and at a West L.A. accounting firm. Mr. Hart has experience in mortgage banking managing a $40 million loan pipeline and as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch responsible for $30 million in assets for corporations and high net worth individuals. For the last 9 years, Hart has held senior level positions in both Finance and Operations for public and private companies in their developmental stage or turnaround mode. He has extensive experience in SEC reporting, finance and accounting, strategic planning and operations.
Co Huynh
Vice President, New Product Planning
Mr. Huynh is a co-founder of Calnetix. He has over twenty years of experience in designing and developing advanced motors, generators, and electromagnetic devices for commercial and aerospace applications. Mr. Huynh previously worked for Allied Signal Aerospace Company, Hughes Research Laboratories and Avcon, Inc. Mr. Huynh has a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, mag cum laude, California Polytechnic State University and is a member of the IEEE committee.
Larry Hawkins
Director of Technology, High Performance Magnetic Bearings
Mr. Hawkins is a co-founder of Calnetix. Mr. Hawkins has 20 years of industrial experience including magnetic bearing systems and is recognized as an expert globally in rotordynamics and magnetic bearing system integration. Mr. Hawkins has worked for such companies as Rotordynamics-Seal Research Inc., Rockwell International, and Rocketdyne. Mr. Hawkins holds a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduating summa cum laude from Auburn University and has published numerous technical papers in the high speed turbomachinery field.
Shamim Imani
Director of Engineering
Mr. Imani has over 10 years of experience in the industry developing energy related products. Mr. Imani has worked extensively with and led many developments including Flywheel systems, Turbo Chargers (automotive and marine), Expanders, Compressors and MicroTurbines. Mr. Imani holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CalPoly, Pomona) and has published numerous technical papers.
Adam Tapias
Director of Operations
Mr. Tapias holds degrees in Business Administration and Spanish from the University of Washington. He most recently held the position of Product Manager with Calnetix Inc. with the focus of launching products to market. Mr. Tapias has experience as a Program Manager for IMPCO Technologies, Inc. and was the Managing Director of the IMPCO Technologies Subsidiary in Mexico. Mr. Tapias has 9 years experience in several functions of various organizations including accounting, finance, procurement, logistics, distribution, process improvements, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, marketing, and sales.
