High Performance Permanent Magnet (PM) Motors and Generators

The range of PM motors and generators varies from only a few watts to MW power levels with speeds from 4,000 rpm to 450,000 rpm. These PM machines operate at very high efficiencies, whether converting mechanical power to electrical or converting electrical power to mechanical.
