Structural Design and Analysis

To achieve sound rotor design and minimum weight, Calnetix builds and analyzes a finite element model of the rotor assembly.

This model is used to establish size and minimum required thickness of the rotor sleeve and to determine the magnitude of rotor interference fit.

 

 

 

 

To ensure robust rotor design and reliable performance, the rotor structural analysis takes into account all critical rotor parameters such as:

  • Over-speed condition
  • Operating temperature range of the machine
  • Temperature distribution within the rotor (based on thermal analysis)
  • Manufacturing tolerances of all rotor components
