Accounting Manager

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager with a role in both Finance and Sales Support. The candidate will be responsible for detailed accounting work for Calnetix Technologies.  In addition to accounting, the candidate will process customer orders and be involved with most aspects of the sales and inventory cycle. In terms of Finance, the position works with the CFO in the preparation and analysis of budgets, financial planning, cash forecasting, financial reporting, and various other financial related processes. Sales support work includes supporting and working with business unit leaders, buyer/planners and other sales and operations personnel.

Responsibilities:

Finance

  • Work with CFO to manage and monitor General Ledger ("GL")
  • Work with Staff Accountant in GL input, including month-end journal entries and mid-month adjusting entries
  • Work with Staff Accountant and CFO in the preparation of month-end supporting schedules
  • Work with CFO in production of and distribution of month-end internal financial statements and ancillary reports
  • Assemble and compile data for preparation of month-end credit line borrowing bases for submission to lender
  • Provide Project Engineers with cumulative cost data on work orders/projects (as needed)
  • Responsible for application of customer accounts receivable payments
  • Participate in year-end inventory observation and obsolescence review
  • Preparation of Audit Request, listed items for year-end fieldwork performed by outside CPA firm, assist with annual coordination of audit process
  • Responsible for posting of GL inventory transactions/updates and reconciliation of book-to-physical at month-end
  • Work with the Staff Account to ensure AP invoices (non-inventory) are recorded to the proper general ledger expense account prior to being entered into AP

Sales Support 

  • Involvement with most aspects of sales order/order entry processing
  • Process customer sales invoices
  • Completion of Contract Review document for new projects
  • Monitor sales backlog for accuracy
  • Responsible for tracking project cost on development programs and use of Project Management function in ERP system to recognize monthly contract revenue
  • Maintain order entry function for engineering/development projects
  • Distribute sales invoices to customers for processing/payment

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • College Degree, preferably in accounting/finance or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years accounting/finance work experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Proficient in GAAP accounting and reporting
  • Experience with a manufacturer a plus
  • General understanding of cost accounting
  • Extensive PC application skills required
  • ERP experience a must with any of the following (or like-kind softwares): Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, Platinum, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc. (Company uses Global Shop Systems).
