Staff Accountant

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant will be responsible for detailed accounting work and periodic reporting for Calnetix and its subsidiaries. In addition to accounting, the candidate will be interacting directly with customers to provide and process information in response to purchase orders, concerns with orders and any requests about selling and shipping products. In terms of Finance, the position assists the Assistant Controller in the preparation and review of budgets, financial planning, cash forecasting, financial systems, and various other finance related operating reports. Customer support and service work includes supporting and working with sales managers, buyer/planners and other operations positions. The Staff Accountant has a dual role in Finance and Customer Support/Service.  We are seeking a high energy, results-oriented transformational leader with a can-do attitude. 

Responsibilities (Includes Finance and Customer Service):

  • Work with Assistant Controller to manage the General Ledger ("GL")

  • Responsible for GL input and preparation of supporting schedules plus month-end journal entries; mid-month adjusting entries for Calnetix and subsidiaries

  • Work with Assistant Controller in production of month-end internal financial statements

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash

  • Application of Accounts Receivable payments/cash receipts

  • Participate in year-end inventory observation and obsolescence review

  • Accumulate time data for production staff and engineers for input into payroll system and bi-weekly payroll reports

  • Input time data for engineering team in ERP system

  • Create journal entries for payroll and month-end payroll accrual

  • Provide Project Engineers and Program Managers with cumulative cost data on work orders/projects (as needed)

  • Preparation of Sales Tax Returns and Property Tax Returns

  • Preparation of Audit Request

  • List items for year-end fieldwork performed by outside CPA firm; assist with annual coordination of audit process

  • Overall responsibility for sales order/order entry processing

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries; handle and resolve customer complaints

  • Maintain order entry function and complete process of order configuration

  • Customer interface with respect to all aspects of sale (purchase order; confirmation after order entry; availability, shipment of product, etc.)

  • Work with customer and field service with respect to issuance and tracking of service parts

  • Release orders for shipment, transact in ERP system including forward to bill

  • Shipping logistics; work directly with shipping department

  • Create and maintain customer and related records in CRM database (Salesforce)

  • Distribute sales invoices to customers for processing/payment

  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning through ERP system

  • Lead customer credit review process including bank and credit verifications

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Knowledge of financial reporting

  • Proficient in GAAP accounting and reporting

  • General understanding of manufacturing process and cost accounting

  • Previous experience in general accounting, customer service orientation and Adaptability Extensive PC application skills required
