Increasing Shipboard Electrical Power from Waste Heat Recovery

U.S.-based Calnetix Technologies has introduced a new system that will produce up to 125 kW of power for the ship's electric load from heat recovered from an engine's jacket water. The patented Hydrocurrent system was developed by Calnetix in conjunction with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery and Engine Company (MHI-MME).
