Gas turbines are often used as prime movers for permanent magnet (PM) generators to produce clean electrical power from multiple fuels over a broad speed range. Calnetix Technologies has designed a variety of solutions combining gas turbines and Magnaforce™ PM motor generators ranging from small compact solutions, like auxiliary power units (APUs) for today’s advanced fighter aircraft and UAVs, to self-contained industrial power generation systems, rated at 500 kW or more. Calnetix also has been a provider of high-speed, high-performance motor generators for microturbines to various OEMs for over a decade.
Calnetix is currently developing and will soon be able to offer medium voltage, multi-megawatt high-speed drive systems designed to reduce overall energy usage by increasing efficiency of high-power systems, as well as reducing system size and cost to improve customer payback.
