Production Technician

We are currently seeking a Production Technician to assemble high speed motor, generator and turbo machinery equipment including performing sub assembly and full system level testing, in accordance with applicable drawings, schematics and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly and test of high precision motor, generator and turbomachinery components and subassemblies
  • Bonding of magnets onto assemblies
  • Utilize metrology tools including height gauges, calipers, micrometers) and capability of calculating stack-up tolerancing of subassemblies
  • Interface with engineering or manufacturing teams regarding design and build issues
  • Provide feedback on design and processing to support continuous improvement

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a technician in production environment or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Ability to produce assemblies following routers, work instructions, and blueprints
  • Ability to conduct in-process checks of assemblies
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word
  • Ability to conduct basic verification/troubleshooting of own work
  • Understanding of basic theory behind motor/generator, power electronics and magnetic bearing component assembly and operation a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None. Depending on experience/qualification level, role may be required for leading/training others on team.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

  • Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time
  • Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
  • Work around objects that can be highly magnetized
  • Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves hearing protection or masks may be required in some production areas.
  • Flexible work schedule.  Available as determined by changes in customer demand, to adjust shift start/end times and work overtime as necessary
