Quality Control Technician

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support quality systems and inspection activities across production and engineering operations.

This role will focus on product verification, nonconformance management, supplier quality support, and hands-on inspection/testing activities in a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical inspection and electrical testing experience, demonstrate strong technical capability, work independently, and have interest in growing within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection activities for tight-tolerance mechanical components and assemblies using precision metrology equipment.

  • Perform electrical and electronic testing activities including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and Hi-Pot testing.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.

  • Perform dimensional, visual, IPC-610, J-STD-001, and functional inspections for incoming, in-process, and final product verification.

  • Support nonconformance management activities including containment, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.

  • Support MRB activities and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.

  • Perform source inspections and supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.

  • Support AS9100/ISO9001 quality processes, inspection plans, First Article activities, and quality documentation.

  • Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues related to assemblies and test failures.

  • Document inspection and test results in accordance with internal procedures and customer requirements.

  • Support development of inspection fixtures, test methods, and process validation activities as required.

  • Take ownership of quality-related issues and proactively support resolution with minimal supervision.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or 4-6 years’ experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 4–6 years of relevant quality experience in aerospace, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, power electronics, or precision manufacturing environments.

  • Strong background in mechanical inspection and electrical/electronic testing.

  • Experience with motors, generators, compressors, power electronics, or rotating equipment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.

  • Strong understanding of GD&T associated with precision-machined components.

  • Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, multimeters, insulation resistance testers, Hi-Pot testers, and other inspection/test equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Experience performing IPC-610 and J-STD-001 inspection on electronic assemblies preferred.

  • Familiarity with ESD handling practices and electronic assembly workmanship standards preferred.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI/CQT), IPC-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent certifications preferred.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a machine shop and engineering laboratory environment.

  • Must be capable of lifting to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on inspection and testing activities as required.

Salary Range:

  • $25 - $30/hour
