We are seeking someone with a technical background who has the desire and capability to take on, own and execute development programs as well as repeat application projects using the company’s core technology. The job will require travel, meeting with customers, and understanding their businesses, applications, and products. In this position, you will execute designated projects from inception through the specification, design, fabrication, validation and testing of development and repeat projects, while providing positive contribution to the core engineering team from a project perspective.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with senior technical team and a variety of subject matter experts to develop next-generation active magnetic bearing and magnetic bearing controller solutions.
- Plan project schedules and budgets and coordinate with internal teams –engineering, operations, manufacturing and testing to execute projects plans.
- Communication with customers/stakeholders and management of customer expectations.
- Technical ownership, oversight and review of the design, both internal and external reviews.
- Design contribution to the core engineering team in areas of expertise.
- Lead Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Prepare development and production test plans and obtain approval from customers and work with technicians to execute test plans and resolve testing issues.
- Support customers in product commissioning and system integration at their sites.
- Work with operations, manufacturing engineers and quality to disposition manufacturing deviations.
- Projects reporting both internal and external.
- Work with business development and prepare proposals for new projects and for existing projects' added scope.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
Required:
- Engineering degree Mechanical/Electrical) with 5-10 years' experience (will consider 3 years of project engineering experience in closely related field).
- Experience with rotating machinery and electric machines.
- System integration experience, specifically with electro-mechanical systems.
- Some project management or coordination experience.
- Strong technical writer is a must.
- Strong oral communicator and technical presenter.
- Must have the bias and dynamism to execute and take ownership.
- Must be able to obtain a confidential security clearance within one year of start date.
Preferred:
- Active confidential security clearance.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a plus.
- Experience with electronics, especially those used for motion control systems, is a plus.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting active magnetic bearing products.
- Experience engineering critical applications (space, defense, transportation, medical, oil & gas infrastructure).

Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Depending on the phase of the project, the incumbent’s time will be split between office/desk, shop floor and off-site activities. Up to 20% travel may be required, domestic and international.
- On-site only; this is not a remote/hybrid position.
Salary Range:
$125,000 - $175,000
