Cerritos, Calif. – March 29, 2013 – Calnetix Technologies, a pioneer in high-speed permanent magnet motor generators, power electronics and magnetic bearings for a variety of applications and industries, announced today Co Huynh as its Vice President of New Product Development.
Huynh rejoins the company that he helped found from FMC Technologies where he served as Manager of Special Projects.
“Co has more than 25 years of experience in designing and developing advanced motors, generators and electromagnetic devices for commercial, aerospace and subsea applications,” said Vatche Artinian, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Calnetix. “He will assist the company in various project execution, project-to-product transitions and other high-value activities. We’re excited to have him back!”
After founding Calnetix, Huynh transferred to its subsidiary, Direct Drive Systems (DDS), in 2008 to lead a new subsea pump development project utilizing the parent firm’s core technologies in permanent magnet motors and magnetic bearings. DDS focused on systems greater than 1.5MW for the Oil and Gas market and was purchased by FMC Technologies in 2009.
Huynh holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and is a member of the IEEE committee.
