Calnetix variable speed drive consists of a simple two-level architecture, which has low parts count and high reliability compared to multilevel inverter topologies. The current harmonics are minimized by operating at higher inverter PWM switching frequency. Calnetix inverters utilize both IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) and SiC (Silicon Carbide) switching devices. SiC is an emerging technology, which allows significantly higher switching frequency at low operating loss.
