We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician who is responsible for leading the assembly and testing of high speed magnetic bearing motors and generators.

Responsibilities:
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Design tooling and fixtures to support product fabrication, assembly and test coordinating design criteria with vendors and/or customers when applicable
• Follow through with the fabrication of tooling and fixtures by internal and external suppliers
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing functions, including assembly, purchasing, and QA. This includes providing first-line technical support to these functions.
• Improving overall processes and related issues including process development, scheduling, creating process documentation, product assembly and production processing, problem solving, and program management
• Specify, install, troubleshoot and debug tooling and capital equipment.

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
• Formal technical training in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems required
• Ability to set up and utilize electrical test equipment
• Ability to set up and utilize electrical test equipment
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints, technical specifications, electrical schematics, work instructions and other technical documentation
• Machine shop experience desirable
• Ability to learn and willingness to operate electro-mechanical systems and proprietary equipment/processes used in production

Work Environment / Physical Demands: This position is very much hands-on and in a shop atmosphere most of the time. Personal protective equipment may be required in some work areas. Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
